The past and future of our viticultural tradition

The cellars are the heart of Agricola San Felice, an estate that produces no less than 14 different wines. Visiting the impeccably restored cellars gives you a hands-on introduction to the “San Felice method”, which combines tradition with scientific innovation.

Guided tour

Guests of the Hotel Borgo San Felice can book guided tours of the estate, in order to delve deeper into every aspect of the world of wine. Every visit includes a tour of the cellars and a guided tasting. Right next to the 5-star hotel is the Agricola San Felice, one of the most established estates in the Chianti Classico area. With its 140 hectares of vineyards, acclaimed wines and DOP olive oils, San Felice is the beating heart of our philosophy of sustainable luxury. Steeped in an ancient viticultural tradition dating back to the 1400s, the estate took its current shape in 1978, with the purchase of other estates outside the Chianti region, the construction of a state-of-the-art winery, and the launch of various experimental research programmes in partnership with numerous universities. These efforts yielded outstanding levels of professionalism and wide acclaim on international markets. Agricola San Felice has conducted various studies in conjunction with universities, to develop the “San Felice method”, which is based on a profound knowledge of its territory and a rigorous scientific approach. Agricola San Felice’s production spans top-quality DOP (Denominazione di Origine Protetta) extra-virgin olive oil, olive trees from the Campogiovanni estate and a range of 14 different wines. These include Campogiovanni, Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Poggio Rosso (which represents a milestone in Chianti winemaking and gave its name to our gastronomic restaurant), Vigorello (the first wine produced in the Chianti Classico area using only red grapes), and a selection of grappa and vin santo.
